Jersey City Man Arrested in Hoboken for Burglarizing Cars

Hoboken Police have apprehended a 57-year old Jersey City man for burglarizing cars in the Mile Square City.  According to Detective Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera, Steven Felton was arrested at 6:07 a.m. on Thursday, September 17th at 157 2nd Street.

Sergeant Donald Rosso, Police Officer Jesse Castellano, and Police Officer Brandon Fitzgibbons responded to the area of 156 2nd Street on a report of an individual breaking into vehicles. First to arrive on the scene was Sergeant Rosso.   He found an individual in the back seat of a white Honda with its rear driver side window broken. Shortly thereafter, Officer Fitzgibbons and Officer Castellano arrived and assisted Sergeant Rosso.

The person found in the back seat of the Honda was identified as Felton.  The officers on the scene also located two boxes next to the vehicle, believed to be proceeds of the burglary. The contents of the boxes were valued at about $470.00.   Further investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Felton. While conducting a search, Felton was found to be in possession of a burglar’s tool and drug paraphernalia.

Felton was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with Burglary, Theft, Burglar’s Tool, Criminal Mischief, and Drug Paraphernalia. Felton’s charges were placed on a warrant and he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.

The defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
