43-year old, Angel Sanchez of Jersey City was arrested yesterday at approximately 5:45 pm for an active warrant issued for an incident that occurred on November 6, 2022 on the 200 Block of Washington Street in Hoboken.
During that incident, Detective / Lieutenant Jonathan Mecka says Sanchez threatened another person with a knife. He then fled the area prior to police arriving. Yesterday, November 16, Officers Leo Colon and Anthony Fesken responded to 4th and Washington Streets based on information that Sanchez was there. Upon arrival, they located and attempted to arrest Sanchez. However, he resisted arrest and both officers were injured.
Sanchez has been charged with Terroristic Threats, Weapon Possessions, Certain Persons not to have a weapon, Obstruction and two counts of Aggravated Assault on police. The charges were all placed on warrants and after being processed he was transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.
