Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella has announced the conviction of a Hudson County man in connection with an assault of a woman more than three years ago.

According to Musella, Randy Gallman of Jersey City has been convicted in connection with the attack of a Bergen County woman on December 29, 2020.   The alleged attack took place in broad daylight.

The Prosecutor says that on February 8, 2024, after a two-week trial before the Honorable James X. Sattely, P.J.Cr., in Bergen County Superior Court, Gallman was convicted of attempted kidnapping, attempted sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, simple assault, and harassment.  Sentencing has been scheduled for May 3, 2024.

A press release from Prosecutor Musella states, “On the afternoon of December 29, 2020, as Randy Gallman was working as a flower delivery driver, he harassed a passerby in Fort Lee. Twenty minutes later, he spotted the victim again in Leonia. There, Gallman grabbed the victim, dragged her into an alleyway, and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim fought with Gallman before Gallman ran away.  Within 24 hours, Gallman was apprehended by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office with assistance from the Fort Lee Police Department, Leonia Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Jersey City Police Department.”
