Guardia de seguridad de las escuelas públicas de Jersey acusada de fraude con el seguro médico

Photo Credit:  facebook.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced today that a security guard employed by the Jersey City Public Schools has been arrested by members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit following an investigation that determined he submitted over 50 fraudulent medical claims to his insurance company.

34-year old Kaquan Vanliew of Jersey City has been charged with one count of Insurance Fraud, a crime of the second degree. He was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City on Thursday, March 31 and released on a summons pending his first court appearance.

The investigation determined Vanliew submitted over 50 fraudulent medical claims to AFLAC insurance between 2018 and 2021. He received approximately $17,000 in payouts from a policy obtained through his employment at the Jersey City Public Schools.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Insurance Fraud Unit with the investigation and arrest. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Insurance Fraud Unit at 201-795-6000 ext. 6634.

The above charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
