Lane closings planned at the George Washington Bridge,  Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel and Holland Tunnel

 

Lanes will be closed this weekend and/or next week at the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge and Holland Tunnel for ongoing construction and repair projects.

George Washington Bridge:

 

  • One of four lanes on the bridge’s eastbound upper level will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 4 a.m. Monday, December 9.

 

  • One lane on the westbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 7 a.m. Saturday, December 7.

 

  • The bridge’s lower-level westbound side will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 7 a.m. Saturday, December 7.

 

  • The Henry Hudson Ramp to the bridge’s lower level will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 7 a.m. Saturday, December 7.

 

  • The left lane on the westbound Route 1/Route 9/Route 46 exit ramp at Fletcher Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 7 a.m. Saturday, December 7.

 

  • The right lane on the westbound Route 1/Route 9/Route 46 exit ramp at Fletcher Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, December 6, through 7 a.m. Saturday, December 7.

 

  • One of four lanes on the bridge’s upper-level westbound side will be closed from 7 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 7.

 

  • Two lanes on the westbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, December 7, through 8 a.m. Sunday, December 8.

 

Holland Tunnel:

 

  • One westbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours from Sunday, December 8, through Thursday, December 12, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning.  The closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.

 

  • One eastbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours from Sunday, December 8, through Thursday, December 12, from 11 p.m. each night through 5 a.m. the following morning.  The closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.

 

  • Two eastbound lanes on 12th Street, between Jersey Avenue and Manilla Ave, will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 12, through 5 a.m. Friday, December 13. The lane closures are needed to accommodate major sewer rehabilitation work being done by Jersey City.  This work is weather dependent.

 

Lincoln Tunnel:

 

  • The tunnel’s North Tube (into New Jersey) will be closed from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, for light tower repairs. Traffic will be diverted to the Center Tube.

 

  • The tunnel’s North Tube (into New Jersey) will be closed from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, for light tower repairs. Traffic will be diverted to the Center Tube.

 

  • The tunnel’s North Tube (into New Jersey) will be closed from 11 p.m. Sunday, December 8, through 5 a.m. Monday, December 9, for light tower repairs. Traffic will be diverted to the Center Tube.

 

  • The tunnel’s North Tube (into New Jersey) will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday, December 9, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, for light tower repairs. Traffic will be diverted to the Center Tube.

 

  • The tunnel’s North Tube (into New Jersey) will be closed from 11 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, for light tower repairs. Traffic will be diverted to the Center Tube.

 

Goethals Bridge:

 

  • One of the bridge’s three eastbound lanes will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, December 9, through Thursday, December 12.

 

Bayonne Bridge:

 

  • One southbound lane (into Staten Island) or one northbound lane (into Bayonne) will be closed from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, and Thursday, December 12.

 

PATH:

 

  • PATH’s World Trade Center station will remain open this weekend. The station has been closed on most weekends since January 2019 for tunnel repair work, but weekend closures at WTC have been suspended until January 4, 2020.
