LCOR, NJ Transit & Hoboken Reveal Additional Elements To "Hoboken Connect," aka Rail Yard Development

Photo Credits:  Marino Public Relations & LCOR                                                                                                                                                                                    During a Zoom community meeting held earlier this evening, representatives of LCOR, Hoboken’s chosen redevelopment company, unveiled further details of the proposed, redevelopment project for the NJ Transit Rail Yards, Lackawanna Terminal and Warrington Plaza.

The Hoboken Connect project will deliver 635,000 square feet of office space, 389 residential units, of which 20 percent will be affordable, new retail space, public open space and significant infrastructure improvements within the footprint of, and immediately adjacent to, NJ TRANSIT’s historic, Hoboken Terminal.

              LCOR, a fully integrated real estate investment, development, and management firm, together with their project partners – NJ TRANSIT and the City of Hoboken – today presented elements and imagery of the transformational redevelopment, Hoboken Connect, a mixed-use transit-oriented project aimed at generating significant investment in Hoboken’s waterfront. The project, which is currently under review by the City of Hoboken and pending redevelopment agreement approvals next month, will infuse new energy and offerings into Hoboken’s already robust cultural landscape through additional commercial, residential, retail and outdoor space offerings.

Upon completion, Hoboken Connect will revitalize one of the main gateways to the City of Hoboken through the preservation and activation of key NJ TRANSIT infrastructure and facilities, investment in and redevelopment of City infrastructure and roadways, delivery of new open space, robust resiliency initiatives and the delivery of new, mixed-use development.

new open space, renovation and activation of NJ TRANSIT assets, historic preservation, and investment in the City’s infrastructure. The project is expected to amplify economic growth and opportunity both locally and statewide, while restoring NJ TRANSIT’s Hoboken Terminal as a world-class, transportation hub.

Situated on the Hoboken Waterfront, Hoboken Connect will serve as a mixing space for corporate, creative and innovation studios with a variety of modern F&B, hospitality, retail and wellness experiences surrounding the Lackawanna terminal, adding to Hoboken’s already robust neighborhood offerings (inclusive of waterfront parks, 70+ restaurants, live music venues and gallery space offerings).

With quick access to New York City via multiple modes of transportation, including the NJ TRANSIT bus, PATH, NY Waterway Ferry and close entry to multiple NYC roadways, Hoboken Connect will encompass a space for the community to work, live and play through the diversity of spaces within the overall development plan.
