For decades he covered Hudson County high school and college sports like no other.  He was a sports journalist and local reporter beloved by his readers, athletic directors, local Hudson County athletes and anyone who crossed his path.

He was an icon in Hudson County.  Jim Hague has passed away at the age of 62.

He retired last year, having worked for The Observer for more than twenty years.  Prior to that, he was a fixture at the Hudson Reporter.  If you had any connection to sports in Hudson County, at some point Jim Hague was interviewing you, covering your team, or reporting on something pertaining to sports you were associated with…for the past fifty years.

He began his career while he was still a student at St. Peter’s Prep High School in Jersey City.  If there was something to be said about something related to Hudson County sports, Jim said it; or rather, wrote it.

Plain and simple, Jim Hague was a journalistic giant.  And a darn nice person!!

Condolences to his family.  May he rest in peace.
