The Lightbridge Academy, an educational childcare company, held a groundbreaking ceremony at noon on Wednesday for their new location in Bayonne as the first steps to renovate the former Bayonne Frank Cinema 12 at the South Cove Commons into a multi-business facility officially commenced.
Managing Principals Manan and Neel Shah, who own the venture along with their father Vijay, took turns swinging a sledgehammer into one of the walls alongside several Bayonne city officials, including Mayor James Davis. In a brief interview, Neel Shah said:
“The way our father has taught us, being raised in the retail community, we were always taught to give back and be there for customers, what better way than to give back to the youth… Excited for it all to come to life and to see the finished product”.
The Lightbridge Academy will be the first business to move into the old movie theatre that is expected to hold up to seven businesses with their site alone being able to accommodate up to 200 children.
