It was a packed auditorium at the Esther Salas Academy in Union City on Tuesday night, as Mayor Brian Stack, in office since 2000, and the Board of Commissioners, took their oaths of office for another four-year term.
Joining Stack in winning re-election in an unopposed election earlier this month, were incumbent Commissioners Lucio Fernandez, Wendy Grullon, Maryury Martinetti and Celin Valdivia.
Each of the Commissioners thanked the residents of the city for their trust and support.
Mayor Stack praised the volunteers who helped get the public to the polls, despite running unopposed.and the department workers, particularly those in the DPW, for their unwavering commitment to their jobs, especially during the winter’s snowstorms.
