Mayor Davis confirms second positive case of Coronavirus in Bayonne

Residents of Bayonne, as we continue to work together and navigate our way through these times, I assure you that we are doing everything we can to secure the safety of all our residents.

The COVID-19 virus is very contagious and we are seeing the number of cases rise all around us. This morning, we have confirmed the second Bayonne resident has tested positive for Coronavirus. This 27- year-old female, has been under isolation and monitoring for a few days. We are all praying for our neighbor as she fights this illness.
In the coming days, we will probably see a rise in cases throughout our community. As I have been advising, there is no need for fear or panic. Continue to follow the directives that have been put in place, and continue to use a common-sense approach to combating its spread.

Please continue to practice social-distancing, stay tuned to the City of Bayonne website, and the social media pages of myself, Bayonne, and Bayonne OEM. You should also sign up for our SWIFT911 emergency notification system. You can find the information on our website.

We are a strong and resilient community and I am very confident that we will come out of this even stronger. We are praying for all the people that contract this virus and we are praying for our entire community. Be safe!
