In what is becoming a very disturbing trend in Hudson County in recent weeks, another person became the victim of a hit-and-run accident around midnight this morning in Jersey City. According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a male pedestrian.
The crash occurred in the area of Newark Avenue and Coles Street. When officers arrived they located a male victim – later identified as a 35-year-old Jersey City resident – with serious injuries at the intersection. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
According to the Prosecutor, the victim was taken by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he is currently in critical, but stable condition.
This case is under active investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
