NBPD Honors Captain Cynthia Montero As Part of Women’s History Month

The North Bergen Police Department continues to recognize and honor the women within their Department as part of March being Women’s History Month.  Today, North Bergen’s Police Department highlights Captain Cynthia Montero.

Montero is the highest ranking, female police officer in the history of the North Bergen Police, reaching the rank of Captain.  In addition, Montero is also the first Latina in the history of Hudson County’s Municipal Police Departments to rise to the rank of Captain.

Bernadette Gonyou, who was honored last week, became North Bergen’s first female police officer. Lieutenant Gonyou retired from the North Bergen Police Department in December 2011.  Lt. Gonyou was a North Bergen Police Dispatcher prior to becoming a Police Officer.
