North Bergen Holds Cops and Bobbers Fishing Event at Braddock Park on Monday

The North Bergen Police Department and the North Bergen Recreation Department, in conjunction with both the NJ Division of Fish & Wildlife and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, held a “Cops and Bobbers” fishing event for kids attending the North Bergen Summer Fun program at Braddock Park on Monday.

One of the trips offered by the North Bergen Summer Fun program run by the Recreation Department, kids spent the day at the lake fishing alongside officers from the North Bergen Community Policing Unit.

“When it comes to the kids, there is nothing that [Mayor Nicholas Sacco] and Commissioner Hugo Cabrera won’t give us,” said Jimmy Avella, deputy director of the North Bergen Recreation Department.

As a part of the Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs program, NJ Fish and Wildlife brought fishing rods for everyone to use; the US Fish and Wildlife Service came with their “Reels on Wheels” trailer providing additional supplies.
