Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released disturbing information regarding an 18-year old male having sex with an 11-year old female.
On Thursday, July 6, 2023, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office arrested Brandon Majano of North Bergen, for sex crimes involving an 11-year-old female. The crimes occurred on various dates in May 2023.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, the defendant and the victim knew one another. Majano is charged with sexual assault by contact, a crime of the second degree; endangering the welfare of a child, a crime of the third degree; and possession of child sex abuse material, a crime of the third degree.
Majano was placed under arrest at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first court appearance. The State has filed a Detention Motion, which is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest, with assistance from the Union City Police Department.
