North Bergen Mayor Wins Esteemed Parking Award During NJ League of Municipalities Convention

North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco’s innovative parking initiatives have secured him the highly esteemed Monetti Award, marking a significant triumph for both the mayor and the community’s parking infrastructure. This distinguished accolade, renowned for recognizing excellence in the parking industry, underscores Mayor Sacco’s commitment to providing exceptional parking services and fostering innovation.

The Steven Monetti Lifetime Achievement Award was given at the New Jersey Parking Institute Awards Ceremony on November 15th at the Cardinal Restaurant in Atlantic City during the annual New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference, where Mayor Sacco was joined by friends, family, and other supporters from the community including County Commissioner and NJ Parking Institute Vice President Robert Baselice.

“I am truly honored to receive this award, which is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our community in advancing parking and mobility initiatives,” said Mayor Sacco. “This achievement is shared with all of the dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for our residents.”

The Steven Monetti Lifetime Achievement Award is named after Mr. Steven Monetti, the founder of the NJ Parking Institute in 1968.  A longstanding resident of North Bergen,  Monetti, with the support of Senator/Mayor Sacco, assumed the role of Chairman of the North Bergen Parking Authority board. Additionally, he served as a board member of the Governors NJ Transportation Committee and as the Director of the Fort Lee Parking Authority.

              “Throughout my time as the Director of the North Bergen Parking Authority, Mayor Sacco’s support has resulted in the creation of over 675 new parking spaces, which has had a tremendous impact on the quality of life of our residents,” said Commissioner Baselice. “As we gather to recognize and celebrate excellence, there is no one I consider more worthy for his contributions to our community, vision, and dedication than my friend, Mayor Nick Sacco.”

Mayor Sacco’s outstanding leadership in implementing effective parking solutions and his dedication to enhancing the overall parking experience for residents and visitors alike set him apart, earning him the well-deserved Monetti Award.

The award ceremony, attended by leaders in the parking industry and relevant experts, showcased Mayor Sacco’s innovative approach to parking services, solidifying his position as a trailblazer in the sector. This recognition is expected to bolster Mayor Sacco’s reputation and highlight North Bergen as a model for effective and innovative parking solutions.
