During a Wednesday afternoon ceremony in North Bergen Town Hall, the Oolice Department added five new officers; 3 SLEO part-time officers, and the promotion of 2 SLEO officers to full-time status. The swearing-in ceremony was held in front of family and friends.
According to Police Chief Peter Fasilis, the new hires bring the Department’s total to 148 officers. The new, full-time officers are Teodulo Perez and Javier Garcia-Riancho. The new, part-time SLEOs are Christian Correa, Gianny Falconi and Ishmael Gomez.
Public Safety Commissioner Allen Pascual called the department “elite.”
The new full-timers will go for an additional month of training at the academy, while the SLEOs will train for six months.
