On Saturday at North Bergen’s Recreation Center, residents could get their blood pressure checked, adopt-a-dog, or ride a mechanical bull. It was the township’s annual Summer Health and Green Family Festival.
Hundreds of township residents attended the yearly event, along with their children. The amount of health-related and green-related vendors were too numerous to count. Let it be said that various health screenings were available, saving residents the trouble of having to make an appointment at the doctor’s office, or visit the local nursery to pick up a potted plant of a package of flower seeds.
There were all kinds of rides and activities for the kids, such as a mechanical bull and a rock climbing wall for the truly adventurous child.
Saturday’s festival was sponsored by the North Bergen Health Department, the township’s Municipal Utilities Authority and Mayor Nicholas Sacco and the Board of Commissioners.
