En la víspera de la inauguración presidencial, Jersey City se unirá para el momento nacional de unidad y recuerdo

On the eve of the Presidential inauguration, the City of Jersey City will be taking part in National Moment of Unity and Remembrance.  The nationwide event is designed to send a resounding message of unity and hope, as the country comes together at 5:30 this afternoon to remember all of the lives lost to the coronavirus pandemic, while reflecting on the unprecedented challenges so many Americans are still facing.

Mayor Steven Fulop, members of the City Council and community residents will be gathering at City Hall.  They will be joined by the local group “COVID-19 Loss Support for Family & Friends.”  The group is founded by Sabila Khan.

She is asking Jersey City residents to step outside of their homes and businesses at 5:30 today and make noise.  Bang pots.  Bang pans.  Shine a light as a symbol of better times ahead in 2021.  Church bells will ring.  All of this being done as a message of strength and unity throughout the Jersey City community.

Among those attending the City Hall gathering will be New York City artist Kristina Libby, who will display one of her “floral hearts” wreath.  1-800-Flowers will be donating the flowers for the City Hall event.

A some symbol to show the nation we are all in this together; that we need to stand united in these most difficult of times.
