A four alarm blaze early Saturday afternoon has left more than twelve people homeless. According to Jersey City fire officials, the blaze on Nunda Avenue left two homes uninhabitable.
The fire began at 217 Nunda and spread to 215. The damage is so extensive the families, thirteen people in all, including at least four children, will not be able to return.
No residents were injured, but one firefighter suffered hand and facial burns.
The Red Cross and the Jersey City Office of Emergency Management are assisting the displaced families.
No official cause for the fire has been announced. The blaze remains under investigation.
