Bayonne assault and arrest

Bayonne NJ, January – The Bayonne Police Department reported several significant arrests in the first week of January 2024, highlighting their ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the area.

January 4, 2024 – Package Theft in Bayonne: Gabriel Valle, an 18-year-old male from Avenue E, Bayonne, NJ, was apprehended at 2158 hours near Constitution Avenue. Valle was spotted by an off-duty Jersey City Police Officer pushing a shopping cart filled with packages in an area recently troubled by package thefts. Bayonne Police responded and found Valle in possession of 12 packages stolen from residences on Memorial Boulevard and Carl Brashear Drive. Valle was unable to justify possessing the packages and was charged with third-degree theft. All stolen packages were returned to their rightful owners.

January 5, 2024 – Disturbance at Burger King in Jersey City: In a separate incident, Latife Robinson, a 41-year-old male from Summit Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, was arrested at 1048 hours at Burger King on 1088 Broadway. Robinson refused to leave the restaurant despite multiple requests from an employee and became irate when approached by officers. He resisted arrest, shouted obscenities, and spat in an officer’s face. Robinson faces charges of aggravated assault, obstructing a governmental function, and defiant trespass.

January 6, 2024 – D.W.I. Arrest in Bayonne: Additionally, Derel Turner, a 60-year-old male from West 51st Street, Bayonne, NJ, was taken into custody at 0308 hours near 1st Street and Avenue C for driving while intoxicated (D.W.I.).
