The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has announced that a former, 37-year old Pompton Lakes Police Officer has pleaded guilty to having sex with an underage female and exchanging nude photos with her.
The Prosecutor’s investigation concluded that the relationship between the former officer Mark Stinnard and the girl took place when Stinnard was off duty and did not affect his employment as a law enforcement officer.
Stinnard pleaded guilty yesterday to endangering the welfare of a child. He also admitted to requesting that she send him nude photos and videos of her.
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is recommending that Stinnard receive five years probation, plus mandatory sex offender therapy.
The ex-policeman’s attorney says his client has taken responsibility for his actions and regrets what he did.
