Just after 7 o’clock this evening, the City of Bayonne tweeted and posted a Facebook message concerning the closure of Monday’s Ultimate Sports Day Camp at Veteran’s Stadium due to a possible exposure to COVID-19.
The City of Bayonne will not be conducting its Ultimate Sports Day Camp at Veteran’s Stadium on Monday, August 17, 2020 because the City’s Division of Recreation has been advised of a possible exposure to COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Bayonne has opted to close the camp until the person can be tested on Monday.
While the risk of exposure to campers and staff members is low due to social distancing guidelines employed by our staff, city officials have taken a very cautious approach to the COVID-19 crisis and this precautionary closure is consistent with that approach.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at camp on Tuesday. Please note, however, that Tuesday’s camp may be affected by a positive test result. We will keep you appraised of any additional camp closures, should they be needed, once more information becomes available.
No other Division of Recreation day camps are affected by this closure.
