Recruits Learn Discipline and Respect During Weeklong Guttenberg Jr. Police Academy

For the past decade, Guttenberg boys and girls have had an opportunity to participate in the Police Department’s Junior Police Academy.  They learn discipline and respect, as well as many different law enforcement and public safety functions, everything from seeing a county jail to how firefighters can extricate a person trapped inside of an automobile.

The weeklong Academy, attended this year by 42 Guttenberg youngsters between the ages of ten and fifteen, wrapped up its demonstrations on Friday in North Bergen’s James Braddock Park.  Hudson TV reporter Jeff Henig paid a visit to the Academy on Friday morning to see what the recruits were learning.

The Academy is completely free for Guttenberg kids.
