Congressman Albio Sires (D – District 8) spoke before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Wednesday in support of the Invest In America Act.

Sires posted the following message on Facebook following his testimony:

I just spoke at the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure markup in support of the #INVESTAct. This bill provides critical funding for surface transportation across the US, especially #NJ8. US infrastructure is currently graded a C-. This investment is long overdue. I also discussed the need to move forward on the Gateway Tunnel project. Tens of thousands of commuters rely on tunnels which were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. I look forward to partnering with the Biden admin and my colleagues in New Jersey. Last Congress, I was proud to support necessary infrastructure investment, but the Senate refused to even vote on it. We can’t afford any more delays. Our infrastructure needs are costly and we need to pass federal funding.
