The only Hoboken Councilperson guaranteed re-election on November 7th is 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos, Jr., who is running unopposed. First elected to the governing body in the 1990s, Ramos spoke with Hudson TV reporter Jeff Henig about the issues of concern for his constituency.
Those issues include flooding, and the work being done to address the issue. The 4th Ward is located in the city’s southwestern corner, the low point in the municipality. Ramos says the creation of resiliency parks has helped, but the construction of the next flood pump will significantly help the flooding problem.
As with other areas of the city, the rodent problem is “an embarrassment” according to the Councilman. While the Council has taken several steps to attack the rodent situation, Ramos believe additional measures have to be taken to truly bring this situation under control.
Ramos also talks about vehicular, pedestrian and cycling safety and measures needed to ensure everyone is protected on and around the city’s streets.
He discusses the Housing Authority and development in the city.
Admittedly, Ramos says he is not much of a social media person, be he is always available to speak directly to his constituency. You can call or text the Councilman at (201) 401-7947, or send him an email at councilmanramos4@gmail.com. He will respond directly to you.
