On September 19th, a tragic incident unfolded in West New York when a scooterist was fatally struck after running a stop sign at the intersection of 65th Street and Dewey Avenue. This was confirmed by a town official.
The accident took place around 5:30 p.m. when the scooterist failed to stop at the designated sign and was subsequently hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, in a commendable act, stayed at the scene until first responders arrived. The injured scooterist was immediately transported to a local hospital but, unfortunately, was pronounced dead a short time later.
In response to an inquiry from Hudson County View during a board of commissioners meeting on September 20th, Business Administrator Luis Baez stated that, as of now, no charges or summonses have been issued to the driver. The investigation is currently being handled by the West New York Police Department, and no additional details were released on the evening of September 20th.

Date is wrong, time is wrong, information is wrong. You are a scam of a news channel. Driver of the vehicle was driving over the speed limit, did no react having ample time to press the break or swerve as she must’ve been distracted while driving and hit a kid on a scooter. Driver of the vehicle had to get pulled over by eyewitnesses on the scene as she did not intend on stopping her vehicle who have indeed spoken on the incident. In addition, Plenty of video evidence of the incident is circulating. Get your facts right before publishing articles.
The date is wrong.. was September 19th. Also… the driver didn’t show any empathy .. please , investigate profusely before putting any article online.
The driver did not respect the speed limit according all witnesses.
Condolences to the family. Unfortunately, e-bikes, delivery bicycles and regular bikes are being driven irresponsibility and with no regards to motor vehicles, pedestrians and in addition disobeying traffic laws. These bikes and their operators must be addressed!!!! Most do not have proper documentation nor insurance. This town and neighboring towns are becoming third world countries.
