Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller released the following blotter this afternoon of police arrests over the past week:

Secaucus Police Blotter:  03/22/2021-03/28/2022

  • On 03/22/2021 at 2:34 PM, the police arrested a 50 year old female, Ayisa Vargas of Secaucus, NJ at Secaucus Police Headquarters for Falsification in a Firearms Application [2C:39-10C].  Ms. Vargas was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.
  • On 03/23/2021 at 4:09 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 36 year old male, Michael Roman of Brandon, FL for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Paterson, NJ in the amount of $1,000.00.  Mr. Roman was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.
  • On 03/24/2021 at 6:05 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 35 year old female, Jamilah Thompson of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $100.00.  Ms. Thompson was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.
  • On 03/23/2021 at 12:28 AM, the Secaucus Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop with a vehicle on NJ State Highway Route 3 East.  The vehicle failed to stop for police while the police were exhibiting their lights and sirens.  An investigation was conducted by the Secaucus Police Patrol Division and on 03/25/2021 at 11:55 AM, the police arrested a 29 year old male, Fair Ahmed of Brooklyn, NY for Eluding [2C:29-2B] after Mr. Ahmed turned himself in at Secaucus Police Headquarters.  Mr. Ahmed was issued his complaint warrant along with 9 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.
  • On 03/25/2021 at 5:40 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 31 year old male, David Hardaway of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Elizabeth, NJ in the amount of $500.00 with a 10% option.  Mr. Hardaway was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.
  • On 03/26/2021, in an effort to combat vice related crimes within the Town of Secaucus, the Secaucus Detective Division arrested the following individuals; At 4:53 PM, the police arrested a 31 year old female, Elena Velikaia of Brooklyn, NY for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)].  Ms. Velikaia was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.  At 6:48 PM, the police arrested a 27 year old female, Nelly Monge of Paterson, NJ for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)].  Ms. Monge was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.  At 8:06 PM, the police arrested a 25 year old female, Rosa Escalera of San Juan, Puerto Rico for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)].  Ms. Escalera was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.  At 8:24 PM, the police arrested a 29 year old male, Jonathan Polanco-Cruz of Woodland Park, NJ for Promoting Prostitution [2C:34-1B(2)].  Mr. Polanco-Cruz was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.  At 9:06 PM, the police arrested a 25 year old female, Decole Maxwell of Portland, OR for Engaging in Prostitution [2C:34-1B(8)].  Ms. Maxwell was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody.   
  • On 03/27/2021 at 4:46 AM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 27 year old male, Khalil Caldwell of East Orange, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Essex County Superior Court with no bail.  Mr. Caldwell was served 3 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail.
  • On 03/28/2021 at 5:55 PM, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 37 year old female, Lakeshia Lewis of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $550.00.  Mr. Lewis was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.       

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
