Señoras honran la memoria del oficial de policía del Capitolio Sicknick

Respects are being paid this week, as Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick’s body lays in honor in the United States Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC.  Officer Sicknick lost his life as a result of injuries sustained during the January 6 insurrection on the Capitol, as thousands of protesters, at President Trump’s encouragement, walked to the Capitol where a joint session of Congress was beginning the Electoral College vote count to formalize Joe Biden’s victory.

Esta mañana, el congresista Albio Sires (D – Distrito 8) dio a conocer la siguiente declaración después de rendir homenaje al oficial Sicknick:

“Earlier today, I paid my respects to Officer Brian Sicknick, as he lay in honor in the Capitol Rotunda. Those of us who were present at the Capitol on the day of the attack will remain indebted to Officer Sicknick, and every officer who defended the Capitol from those who sought to destroy our democratic institutions. Officer Sicknick is only the fifth private citizen to lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda, and I cannot think of a more appropriate way to memorialize the man who defended and protected the Capitol with his life. Officer Sicknick’s personal sacrifice and courage will not soon be forgotten. May his memory be a blessing to his family and fellow officers.”
