Suspicious Jersey City Package Proves Harmless

A second, abandoned, package left in Hudson County on Monday proved to be harmless according to police.  First, there was a package left near the NJ Transit tracks off Monroe Street in Hoboken which proved harmless.  Then Jersey City Police responded to Palisade Avenue and Bowers Street at approximately 5:35 pm.

According to Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, Jersey City Police officers responded to a call for a suspicious package.  Upon their arrival, a dark colored bag was observed on a bench.  Shortly thereafter, a local resident returned for the bag, which he said was left behind by his son.

The Jersey City Emergency Services Unit responded and determined the bag contained an iPad and Nintendo Switch.  The bag was returned to the owner.
