Let’s get ready for some upbeat music and a spectacular band performance in Weehawken.

With the start of school approaching quickly, members of the Weehawken High School Marching Band are getting ready to once again perform in competitions and during halftime of the high school’s football games.

The 24 members of the band have been attending a two week, band camp, getting their steps down and familiarizing themselves with the music they will be playing.

Many of the band members are returnees, but there are several new students joining the group for this academic year.  The director of the Weehawken High School Marching Band is Tyrell Butler, who is in his first year in the district leading the group.

The band’s camp began on Monday.  It’s a full day of rehearsals beginning at 10 am, with the band practicing their routine without instruments on Arricale Field before lunch, followed by several hours indoors learning their music.  After dinner, it’s back outside for more practice.

This year’s show is centered around Pandora’s Box.  It you’d like to see the performance, you can attend Weehawken High School’s first, home football game on September 14th.
