Three men are hospitalized in stable condition following gunfire early on Friday morning in Jersey City. According to spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, the gunfire was in initially reported at 2:20 a.m. in the area of Ocean Avenue and Sheffield Street,
All three victims were brought to the Jersey City Medical Center. A 29-year-old was shot in the buttocks while the two others, 18 and 21 years old, were shot in the leg.
None of the injuries are considered life-threatening Wallace-Scalcione said.
Jersey City Police investigating the shootings recovered at least four shell casings in the area of Rutgers and Cator Avenues. Police say the area has a history of gang violence.
