Union City Adds 2 Stars In Celia Cruz Plaza

During a ceremony on Saturday, Union City added two more stars to the Walk of Fame in Celia Cruz Plaza.

Both honorees are from Union City.  The first is the 1950s born group, La Charanga 76.  The second is Telemundo’s national correspondent Angel Villagomez, a resident of Union City for 35 years.

The honorees become the 59th and 60th recipients of stars in the Plaza’s Walk of Fame.

In addition to their stars, the honorees each received proclamations from State Senator Brian Stack’s office.

Commissioner Maryury Martinetti told Hudson TV that the Plaza is symbolic of the city’s cultural diversity, something which Mayor Stack and the Board of Commissioners completely embrace.

The Celia Cruz Plaza Walk of Fame is located on Bergenline Avenue at 31st Street.
