Union City celebrated one of the film industry’s most iconic monsters on Saturday with a screening of the 1956 classic Godzilla at the Musto Center.  The evening, sponsored by Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners, featured art and a memorabilia exhibit.

The 1956 film was an American re-boot of the 1954 Japanese film and starred Raymond Burr.  Saturday’s event was part of Union City High School’s Visual Media Arts Academy’s academic project for the 2025-26 school year.
It included students from all grade levels in the district contributing drawings and paintings of the classic monster Godzilla.  The project has been on display at Union City High School for weeks.
About fifty people attended Saturday’s screening.  The exhibit will be open to the public at Union City High School after classes end at 3 pm through July 17th.  The public is encouraged to visit the school to view this incredible, student-created project.
