In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UCPD formed a Social Distancing Task Force as a means to education the public and essential businesses on the executive orders and the practice of social distancing. Initially, the Task Force visited multiple businesses, distributed flyers as well as masks and gloves. Efforts were increased in response to the executive order mandating that customers and employees wear masks as well as bus drivers, both public and private, and passengers.
UCPD went to Los Hermanos (2606 Bergenline Ave) twice on April 13th and saw multiple employees without masks. The employees and owner were given warnings and educated about the need for masks. Now we had another incident today where an employee who was previously warned about wearing a mask was without one. The employee and owner were issued a summons.
