Union City Planning Board Recommends Redevelopment For Central Ave. Property

The Union City Planning Board this week recommended redevelopment for the parking lot adjacent to The Lenox condominiums at 500 Central Avenue in order to create more affordable housing units.

The Planning Board vote, based upon a report from Union City planning consultant David Spatz, was unanimous, six nothing.

In addition to a recommendation to construct more affordable housing units on a portion of the parking lot, a new parking structure would be built to provide parking spaces for both the new housing units and the existing Lenox residents.

The Union City Board of Commissioners will now consider the Planning Board’s recommendation.
