Union City Police Warn Residents of Kidnapping Scams

The Union City Police Department is warning residents of a scam currently circulating which informs residents that a family member has been kidnapped.  The department tweeted the following shortly past 6 pm tonight:

Please be aware that we have received three reports of UC residents receiving calls about kidnapped family members. THESE CALLS ARE A SCAM!!! DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY. Please contact the
