The gymnasium at the Colin Powell Elementary School in Union City was filled with adoring senior citizens this afternoon, as the municipality, thanks to Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners, held a Valentine’s Day luncheon.
There was music and dancing, as well as a hot meal served by members of the Union City History Club. Every senior received a box of chocolates, as well as a home COVID test. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time meeting with friends and likely making some new ones.
The hot meal featured pulled pork, mac and cheese, fried bananas, Spanish rice and much more to wet the seniors’ appetites. Take a look in this video.
Saturday’s luncheon was free to Union City senior citizens. Union City also holds luncheons for seniors for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other special holidays throughout the year.
