Officer Involved: P.O. Enrico Gnassi and P.O. Harold Milne
Incident Detail: On 10/02/20, at about 7:06 PM, Officer Harold Milne and Officer Enrico Gnassi conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 5th and Madison Street. The motor vehicle stop was for failing to make a complete stop at a posted stop sign at 4th and Jackson Street. The operator was identified as William Azabache 23 y/o Male from Kearny, NJ. As Officer Gnassi approached and spoke to Azabache from the driver’s side of the vehicle, he detected the odor of raw marijuana. This led to Officer Milne discovering a clear zip lock bag containing green vegetation, suspected to be marijuana. It was also learned that Azabache was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He (Azabache) was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of control dangerous substance marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for Failure to Observe Stop Sign, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Driving with a Suspended License.
Defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
