Hoboken Detective Lieutenant Danilo Cabrera says 21-year old Yasmin Lomas from Union City was arrested at 2:29 on Tuesday morning by Hoboken Police for DWI. The arrest took place at 11th Street and Park Avenue.
According to Cabrera, officers responded to the area on a report of a motor vehicle crash. First to arrive on scene were Sergeant Robert Roman and Police Officer Anthony Hochstadter. They observed a silver Chrysler had crashed into a parked vehicle. Officer Hochstadter spoke to the operator of the Chrysler and suspected she was under the influence of an intoxicant. The operator was identified as Yasmin Lomas.
Officer Harold Milne responded and conducted a standardized field sobriety test. Officer Milne determined that Lomas was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle and Lomas was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Lomas was transported to police headquarters by Police Officer Paul Quinn and Police Officer Jessica Arebalo and processed.
Officer Milne secured two breath samples for chemical testing and Lomas received the following motor vehicle summonses: Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, and Unlicensed Driver. Lomas was released to a responsible party.
Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
