Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner, in office since 1990, was sworn in on Wednesday afternoon along with the Township Council during inauguration ceremonies held at Weehawken High School.
West New York Mayor Albio Sires administered the oath to Mayor Turner.
Former Board of Education Trustee Susan Morales-Jennings took over as 2nd Ward Councilwoman from Rosemary Lavagnino, who decided not to seek re-election after 28 years on the Council. Lavagnino administered the oath. Also taking their oaths for another four years in office were 1st Ward Councilwoman Carmela Silvestri-Ehret, 3rd Wrd Councilman David Curtis and Councilman At Large Robert Sosa.
Also taking oaths for their respective positions were Township Manager Giovanni Ahmad, Township Clerk Fola Fares and Township Attorney Elise DiNardo.
