The body of a deceased woman found along the Jersey City – Bayonne border has been identified by law enforcement authorities. According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a Lindenwold woman who was found deceased in Bayonne.
Last Sunday, May 14, the Jersey City Police Department received a missing person report for a 32-year-old Lindenwold woman who was last seen in Jersey City on Saturday, May 13, 2023. According to the Prosecutor, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit – with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department, Bayonne Police Department, and New Jersey State Police – found the lifeless body of a female off of Route 440 near the Jersey City border earlier today. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suarez says the victim has been tentatively identified as 32-year old, Norelis Mendoza of Lindenwold. At the present time, her death is considered suspicious. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The case is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
