This afternoon Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced that a sexual assault in Jersey City is under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department. The alleged sexual assault occurred on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
According to a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a sexual assault on Sussex Street shortly after 11:30 pm. Responding officers located a female victim who reported an unknown male physically and sexually assaulted her as she entered a residence. The female victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.
Suarez says no arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon. This matter is actively being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
