On an extremely cold Saturday morning in Washington Park, Union City’s Youth Sports program held its annual, baseball tryouts.
There are four age categories for the baseball program, with children assigned to teams based upon their level of skill. However, the intent of the program is to have every child, no matter their level of skill, participate and play in games, which take place several times a week through the end of the school year.
There is also a travel team. A second tryout session has been scheduled for Saturday, April 11th. Registration for the program is $75.
Softball tryouts are also being scheduled. The plan is to form a travel team for the girls as well.
