Bayonne Vehicular Stop Leads To Arrests For Gun & Drug Possession

At 6:59 pm on Tuesday, Bayonne police arrested two men following a motor vehicle stop in the area of Linden Street.  According to Captain Eric Amato, 32-year old Sean E. Hill Jr. of Gates Avenue in Jersey City and 36-year old Hector N. Polidura of West 11th Street in Bayonne, were driving a Hyundai Santa Fe with Hill behind the wheel.

During the stop, officers detected strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the car.  Both occupants and the vehicle were searched.

Police found the drug, as well as five, .38 caliber bullets on Hill’s person.  While continuing their search, officers located a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver.  Police determined the revolver was not reported to have been stolen.

Polidura has been charged with the unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.  Hill was charged with possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Both men were taken to the Hudson County Jail.
