UPDATE: According to Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, the JCPD responded to a call of shots fired. When officers arrived on the scene at the corner of JFK Blvd. and Linden Avenue, they found a 29-year old male had been struck twice in his leg. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment was scheduled to be released.
The Jersey City Police Department did recover a firearm at the scene. An investigation is active and ongoing.
The Daily Voice is reporting that a man was shot inside of a Jersey City pizzeria this afternoon. Hudson TV is awaiting additional information from a Jersey City spokesperson, but according to the Daily Voice, at approximately 3:10 pm a man was struck three times by gunfire inside of Vincent’s Pizzeria, located at 697 Kennedy Boulevard.
Shell casings were reportedly found at the scene and the condition of the victim is unknown.
