GoFund Me Page Started For Former North Bergen Mom Shot & Killed In Arizona

A tragic story out of Arizona this weekend, as a former North Bergen mother of five was shot and killed in a domestic violence incident involving her boyfriend, who then killed himself.

Jasmine Berumen (Licea) was born and raised in North Bergen, having served as an EMT in Hudson County in her younger years.  She was currently living with her children in Arizona. On August 20th, Berumen’s life was taken away, as her four youngest children were at home and witnessed the killing.  One of the children made the 9-1-1 call to police.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Aimee Focaraccio and Nicole Avella to help raise money for Jasmine’s family.  Jasmine’s mother has left for Arizona to return her daughter’s body and grandchildren to New Jersey.

100 percent of the donations received will go toward the children and helping their grandparents care for them.  A trust account is also going to be set up soon for businesses, non-profits and agencies who wish to make a donation.

As of 3 o’clock this afternoon, $9,565 has been raised for the Jasmine Berumen Memorial Fund.  If you would like to contribute, just visit gofundme.com/f/jasmine-berumen-memorial-fund.
