Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has released the following information:
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force has charged two men with various drug and weapons offenses following a narcotics investigation in Jersey City. The investigation led to the seizure of a handgun, two high capacity magazines, more than 170 grams of cocaine with a street value of over $7,000, more than four pounds of marijuana with a street value of over $8,000, various prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and over $20,000 cash.
Talha Khan, 27, of Jersey City, and Hameem Khan, 21, of Rosendale, New York, are charged with:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1) and 2C:35-5b(1), a crime of the first degree;
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35- 10a(1), a crime of the third degree;
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a, a crime of the third degree;
- Possession of a Firearm While in Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Cocaine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-4.1a, a crime of the second degree;
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3n, a crime of the third degree;
- Two counts of Unlawful Possession of Prohibited Devices (High Capacity Magazine) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3j, crimes of the fourth degree;
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Marijuana) in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35- 5b(11b), a crime of the third degree;
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute (Marijuana) Within 1,000 Feet of a School in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-7a, a crime of the third degree;
