After initially saying students would return to the classroom full time when winter break ends on Monday, January 3, Hoboken Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christine Johnson has announced that the district will require all students and staff to take a PCR test Monday and is expecting the results back by Wednesday evening.
So, at least for the first three days next week, Hoboken students will learn virtually at home.
In a letter to parents and guardians, Johnson wrote, “As you know, our district provided rapid test kits to all students and staff before the break. All students and staff were asked to use these tests prior to returning to work or school. Based on the positive case numbers in our area, we will be shifting to the administration of PCR tests, as opposed to rapid tests, prior to returning to school.”
