Hoboken celebra una reunión comunitaria en el Parque de Resiliencia del Sudoeste esta noche

Community Reminder: Residents Invited to Community Meeting on Southwest Resiliency Park/Temporary Pop-Up Park, Tonight 6 pm

As a reminder, the City of Hoboken will hold a virtual public meeting tonight (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm to discuss plans for a temporary pop-up park to be constructed this summer on the Block 10 property. Earlier this month, Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and Councilman Ruben Ramos announced an agreement with Academy Bus to acquire an additional acre of land to double the size of the current Southwest Resiliency Park. Hoboken will acquire “Block 10” for $11 million from Academy, which sits adjacent to the current Southwest Resiliency Park.

“We are committed to turning the expanded Southwest Resiliency Park into a temporary pop-up park for all residents to enjoy by this summer, while we move forward with the design of the permanent park expansion,” said Mayor Bhalla. “I encourage residents who are interested in learning more about the current proposed plans for the pop-up park to participate in tonight’s virtual community meeting.”

The City will finance the acquisition utilizing various grants and the Hoboken Open Space Trust Fund, with no impact on the 2021 municipal budget.
