Hudson County & HCST Host Job Fair On Wednesday, May 12 In Secaucus

The pandemic caused many people to lose their jobs.  Many are still trying to recover financially.  Many are stlll unemployed. If you are struggling to find work, you should consider registering for the Hudson County One Stop Career Development Center’s job fair being hosted by the Hudson County Schools of Technology on Wednesday, May 12.

Hudson County One Stop, Hudson County Schools of Technology Hosting Job Fair With Over 50 Employers 

Secaucus, N.J. — The Hudson County One Stop Career Development Center and the Hudson County Schools of Technology will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, May 12 from 5 to 7 p.m.  at the Frank J. Gargiulo Campus in Secaucus. This will be the second job fair since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic., following November’s overwhelming successful event that drew over 300 individuals. 

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, our Hudson County agencies have been working tirelessly to ensure residents are safe, secure and healthy,” said Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise. “Our job fair this past fall proved to be a great success and I am proud of the work being done by the Hudson County One Stop and the Hudson County Schools of Technology to help address some of the economic and financial hardships associated with COVID-19.”

Over 50 vendors, including trades programs, from across the region are expected to attend. Job seekers should bring 5 to 10 copies of their resume with them and be prepared to interview on the spot. 

“The Hudson County One Stop is committed to providing individuals with the resources and opportunities necessary to achieve their career and academic goals, especially during these challenging times,” said Leidy Ramirez, Manager of the Hudson County One Stop. “Organizing regular job fairs is just a small part of what we are doing to help our community recover from the pandemic and we invite job seekers to join us for an informative networking event.”  

Attendees must pre-register online or at the gate and are reminded that masks will be required and social distancing regulations will be strictly enforced. 

“As we continue to make progress on our road to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the need continues to grow to assist job seekers with employment opportunities,” said Keri Sullivan, Director of Grants and Workforce Investment Programs and One Stop Operator Program Manager. “By working with our partners, the Hudson County One Stop will continue to identify innovative ways to serve our community.” 

The Frank J. Gargiulo campus is located at 1 High Tech Way in Secaucus, next to Laurel Hill Park. Additionally, free transportation will be provided to the event from Jersey City and Union City. Busses will begin leaving from County Prep High School, 525 Montgomery Street in Jersey City (Lot 3), the Jersey City Employment and Training building, 398 Martin Luther King Drive, and the Hudson County One Stop, corner of 48th Street and Kennedy Boulevard in Union City. Bus service will begin running at 4:30 and run every 30 minutes.
